2022 Honda Accord vs 2022 Nissan Altima

Are you in the market for a popular mid-size sedan? Then you have probably come across the 2022 Honda Accord and the 2022 Nissan Altima. Both vehicles are extremely popular due to their reliability, attractive styling, impressive efficiency, and innovative safety features. Keep reading to learn more about how these vehicles compare and why the 2022 Honda Accord is the better choice for your next vehicle purchase.

2022 Honda Accord Interior

2022 Honda Accord vs 2022 Nissan Altima Interior

The interior of the 2022 Honda Accord provides luxury, comfort, and convenience. The Accord boasts many desirable features that drivers and passengers will love. It comes standard with Active Noise Control (ANC), a driver attention monitor, dual-zone automatic climate control with air filtration, one-touch turn signals, remote engine start, and a proximity keyless entry with push-button start. Higher trim levels can enjoy a head-up display, wireless smartphone charging, ambient lighting, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.

The interior of the Nissan Altima is not as attractive or luxurious as the Honda Accord. Just as with the exterior, the interior of the Altima does not have many desirable base model features. For example, it does not come standard with dual-zone automatic temperature control or rear passenger air vents. Also, many features that can be found on the Honda Accord are not offered on any trim level for the Altima, such as a head-up display, wireless charging, or active noise control. The Honda Accord also offers more passenger and cargo space than the Nissan Altima.

2022 Honda Accord vs 2022 Nissan Altima Safety

The Honda Accord has plenty of safety, security, and driver-assist features. All Honda Accord models come standard with Honda Sensing technologies, a suite of driver-assist features that promote peace of mind and confidence while on the road. Some features include adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, a collision mitigation braking system, and lane departure warning. Other safety features include a blind spot information system, a rear cross-traffic monitor system, and a HondaLink assist automatic emergency response system.

The Nissan Altima offers almost all these features, and both vehicles are strong choices with high safety ratings.

2022 Honda Accord Exterior

2022 Honda Accord vs 2022 Nissan Altima Exterior

The exterior of the Honda Accord is sleek and stylish, with bold features and dynamic angles. The Honda Accord sports a refreshed style for 2022 with a tweaked grille design, a wide stance, and standard 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels. Drivers and onlookers will appreciate the attractive styling of this sedan with its body-coloured door handles, chrome grille, rear decklid spoiler, and dual exhaust finishers. Other available features include LED lighting, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a one-touch power moonroof.

The 2022 Nissan Altima also boasts an attractive exterior. The Altima is only offered in three trims, giving shoppers less choice than the six trims available for the Accord. The Altima provides many of the Accord's features; however, not all the Accord's standard features are offered on the base model of the Altima. For example, dual exhaust finishers, body-coloured door handles, a rear spoiler, LED fog lights and 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels are only available on higher trim levels for the Altima.

2022 Honda Accord vs 2022 Nissan Altima Performance

The 2022 Honda Accord comes standard with a 1.5-litre i-VTEC turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 192 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque. Premium 2.0 trims of the Accord are built with a 2.0-litre i-VTEC turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 252 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. This engine is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission with Grade Logic Control.

The 2022 Nissan Altima is available with only one engine option, a 2.5-litre four-cylinder that produces 182 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with a CVT. Both Accord's engine options are more powerful than Nissan's engine.
